The journey from gross to subtle (from physicality to consciousness) is a process of purification - lightening the load we carry in the body, thoughts, feelings and our energetic imprint. Purification can sound a bit dogmatic, as if we are impure or unclean (or even unworthy) and we have to make ourselves pure. But that is far from the original idea. All that we have accumulated comes from conditioning. We have ensured our survival here in this human life, at a cost. The price we paid is to take on views, behaviours and energetic imprints that ensure our survival amongst the clan. While all that was necessary as a child, as adults we have choices. The journey from denser lifestyle, which revolves around sense desires and living out the childhood conditioning, to subtle body awareness is often marked by sensitivity to lack of harmony, a desire for coherence and a heart-felt knowing that pulls you towards purposefulness. If the desire is strong within you, the path will appear from within. Meditation is the only reliable, self-paced and safe method that enables conscious connection with the subtler aspects of ourselves. Once conscious connection is established, the guidance unfolds from within. Regular (daily at least once) practise is essential to establish and maintain this connection.
